Concours d'Elegance 2012, Cottage Grove, Oregon
It is easy to chronicle Americans' love affair with automobiles. Since Charles Duryea, in 1892, put the first gasoline powered car together in the U.S, there have been an estimated 2500 car builders in our country. Every one of them had it's champion.
It is easy to imagine parking your 1914 Magic on the street and having someone come up to you and say,”My aunt Vivian had one of these. She made us wash our ears before we could get in.” Aunt Vivian aside, the love affair goes on.
One of the more civilized practices of the auto world are the Concours d' Elegance. In 1965, Cottage Grove experienced its first Concours at the Village Green. As a Sunday charity event, it grew in popularity until the last show in 1984.
Now it is back. On August 19th, 2012, it will once again be possible to wander among antique, classic, and contemporary cars in the wonderful setting at the Village Green Resort and Gardens. Entertainment, prize drawings, fine dining and an occasional adult libation will be available without leaving the grounds.

Proceeds will benefit the our KITs (Kids in Transition) project.
